Most government in developed countries are very concerned about the low birth rates, and having not enough young people to replace the aged. With the ratio of adult to child increases, our society faced another big challenge! The new generation has too many people offering them with "abundent" income when they are young. When they are left alone, they face debt and even bankruptcy problems. There was even a big case in Hong Kong, when a teenager paid his peers with expensive gadgets, like iPhone, to be called "big brother". It has become more important for us - parents and educators, to teach children the basics of spending and saving and impart the life skill of money management, so that they don't end up spending more than they earn. In this Blog, we invite all public members who are concern with this topic to share your views.

If you want to destroy your worse enemy, provide him/her everything. That will deprive your enemy the opportunity to learn and develop independence. In the end he/she will be a useless person. Unfortunately, this is what many parents doing to their children.... If parents continue to indulge our children with "luxury", without giving them the opportunities to grow and learn, they are eventually slowly and surely DESTROYING their beloved children.?....In summary, parents, please DO NOT indulge your children. Let them take up responsibilities, tasks and give them the opportunity to learn and build up the necessary phsyical and mental skills. Our children will benefit and learn from every activities they do, no matter how insignificant and lowly they are

This advice was picked up when I was watching this cartoon video with my children, with the intention to get my children interested with Chinese. In the end, I picked up this learning and find it most useful for my current status and, I believe, useful to many city dwellers.

Kids Hub promotes the holistic development of children.  But, what is the meaning of holism and what is holistic education?

Holism Holism (from ὂλος holos, a Greek word meaning all, whole, entire, total) is the idea that all the properties of a given system (physical, biological, chemical, social, economic, mental, linguistic, etc.) cannot be determined or explained by its component parts alone. Instead, the system as a whole determines in an important way how the parts behave.

Holistic Education Holistic education is a philosophy of education based on the premise that each person finds identity, meaning, and purpose in life through connections to the community, to the natural world, and to humanitarian values such as compassion and peace. Holistic education...
